Current Operating Commercial Policies · Nova Scotia, Canada
1. Operating Identity & Scope
These Terms of Service govern all commercial quotes, welding operations, mobile fabrication services, and customer transactions provided by D&D Marine Industrial Welding & Fabrication (operating as D&D Welding).
D&D Welding provides 100% mobile on-site welding, fabrication, and repair services for marine structures (above-waterline), sanitary stainless process systems, and heavy industrial facilities across the Halifax Regional Municipality and Nova Scotia.
2. Written Quotes & Quote Validity (OD-001)
- Written Quotes: All non-emergency project estimates are issued in writing with itemized labour, materials, and applicable travel charges.
- 14-Day Validity Standard: In accordance with owner commercial policy OD-001, written quotes are valid for 14 calendar days from the date of issuance unless an alternative validity date is explicitly stated on the quote.
- Scope Re-estimation: Quotes unaccepted after 14 calendar days may be subject to re-estimation based on prevailing steel/stainless material costs and crew scheduling.
3. Commercial Deposit Policy (OD-002)
To commit dedicated stainless stock, structural steel, or specialized fabrication materials, a 50% deposit may be required prior to procurement and work commencement under standard advisory triggers:
- Customer-specific material purchases exceeding $800.00 CAD; OR
- Total quoted project amount exceeding $2,500.00 CAD.
Deposit requirements may be adjusted, waived, or extended at management discretion for established commercial accounts operating under approved purchase orders.
4. Payment Terms & Taxes (OD-003)
- Standard Terms: Invoices are due upon receipt for all private and standard commercial dispatches unless formal credit terms have been approved in writing.
- Approved Net 30: Net 30 payment terms may be extended exclusively to established industrial and commercial accounts operating under corporate purchase orders.
- Nova Scotia HST: All billable labor, materials, travel, and services are subject to the required 14% Nova Scotia Harmonized Sales Tax (HST). Tax exemptions require valid CRA exemption documentation prior to billing.
- Payment Methods: We accept Interac e-Transfer, corporate cheque, and major credit cards via our secure Stripe payment gateway.
- Late Administration Fee: Overdue commercial balances past 30 days are subject to an administrative finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% per annum).
5. Site Access, Safety & Hot-Work Permits
Because all work is performed on-site at the customer’s vessel, dock, plant, or project location:
- The customer is responsible for providing safe, unobstructed vehicle and rig access to the work area.
- The customer must secure all necessary facility, dockmaster, or port authority hot-work permits prior to crew dispatch.
- Work is conducted in strict compliance with the Nova Scotia Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and applicable workplace safety regulations.
6. Trade Workmanship & Qualifications
All welding and fabrication is executed by experienced, trade-qualified welding personnel using professional, calibrated mobile welding equipment and dedicated stainless tooling. Welder qualification documentation and QA/QC weld logs can be provided upon project completion for client vessel or plant onboarding files.
